The most important fix in 1.4 is that it no longer freaks out when using applications such as remote desktop. This has been done with removing DirectX from the main core, so WhatPulse 1.4 is no longer dependant on DirectX aswell.

Other features:

– Geek window remembers its position when it’s closed and reopenend.

– Pulse timers are redone, you can now specify the ammount of hours you want to pulse (default to manual pulsing)

– Added pulse per xx clicks. Guess what this does.

– Display UserID in account dialog.

Please update to this new version, you will not be able to use WhatPulse 1.3 in exactly one month (untill 2004–10–10), so this gives you enough time to update.

To install, please pulse, exit WhatPulse, then delete C:\Program Files\WhatPulse (or somewhere else you specified), and then run the installer for 1.4. People tend to forget this.

If you’re using the keyfrequency function, please delete the keyfreq.bin file aswell.

We have just gotten everything, including pulsing to work. So everything should be OK.

As far as the database goes, due to the server move, we only had a backup of 23 August, so unfortunatly everything what happened between 23 August and now, is lost. If you joined or created a team between this date, please do so again. If you signed up in those days, please do so again.

About the pulse history; We were thinking about it for a long time, there was a poll in the forums for a long time. And due to this move, we decided to rearrenge it a little bit. Yes, the pulse history is gone, and from now on, it will only show you a month’s old pulses. This is to minimize our database, so we can get the best speed out of it, plus it’s easier to backup it when it’s smaller, so that will be done every day from now on.

NOTE: If you have any problems pulsing still, restart your client, it needs to update it’s DNS.

Completely free, they let you choose the colors, font, background, logo, etc. and even upload your own files. Plus, they now track usage so you can see who is viewing your signature image. They work on all forums, even if they are blocking ”scripted images”.”

As said on the forums. This service supplies excellent forum images, and has been intergrated with the whatpulse.org website a little.

You can automaticly register an account on whatpulse.bounceme.net through whatpulse.org, if you are logged in, you should see a new link called ”Forum image”. On that new page there are a few instructions, which are pretty explanatory.

The regular WebAPI images on whatpulse.org will be disappearing in exactly 2 weeks, so make sure you switch over before then, if you’re using a forum image. 😉 (Don’t worry, the oldschool style is available on whatpulse.bounceme.net aswell!)

The geek window has had a complete make-over, including transparency (only Windows 2000/XP) and adjustable colors. There’s a configuration menu especially for the geek window, where the workings of the colors are explained.

The entire WhatPulse program can now adjust to your Windows theme aswell.

Last, but not least, WhatPulse 1.3 now features with an extra option called ’Key frequencies’. This feature counts how often a single key gets pressed, and makes a list of these. (This list can be exported to a HTML page aswell!).

Note that this feature is only locally, and none of this info gets sent to the server, and is disabled by default.

There seems to be a minor problem with pulsing, this may take a day to resolve, just spare your pulses. ;o)

Update: Pulsing seems to be fixed.
